• moonlight fest: this is an end of the year event where everyone gifts fic or fanart to someone else, this'll be my 2nd year participating!! a few days ago i got my assignment so i should probably start brainstorming soon



• scarygirlnight aka girlshalloween: i managed to write something YAYYY however it was only one fill. again. but that's okay because it was long for a "drabble" and i had a good time with it (more on this next month since i posted it on ao3 as well just after the event closed)

oh god where do i begin with this. so i did not expect to be matched with a vity ficdom author AT ALL considering how few seemed to be signing up (i'm very nosy) and how few there are in general?? so yes i was taken aback. then i saw that i had read and enjoyed of their fics before and was like whoa. but the craziest part was how i realized this author is a friend of an acquaintance who also writes vity that i met back when i did a tbz secret santa (aka where cherry pie days came from, thank you kat). anyway, small world huh. i'm definitely feeling more entangled in kpop fandom than i did a few years ago. so far that hasn't been a bad thing [sweats]...

while choosing which work to remix, i did have some trouble, i went back and forth for a bit. i'll be honest, i didn't have issues narrowing down the list because a lot are not things i was willing to read,, but of the ones i liked, there's a good variety. my top pick was bake you feel my love because i'd read it before, it's sooo cute and light-hearted and i'm a secret 00z fan...plus the side puppyz!! but in the end shadow of inspiration won even though i could barely bring myself to reread it due to how much i cried on my first read.

i was fairly sure i wanted to do a sequel, but for a moment i entertained the thought of a truman show au! the vibes of identity crisis/cognitive dissonance/dissatisfaction would've worked, i think? but alas, it seemed like too much work and a straightforward sequel would actually let me feel justified in reading some of the interactions in ASOI as carefully restrained due to insane romantic tension that goes unacknowledged at least on a surface level. anyways. working on my sequel was tough, i knew roughly what i wanted to do but struggled a lot with how to present the ideas i had and feelings of the characters in my own way while also still having the style seem slightly in line with how flwryshj wrote them. also it was exhausting bc i was unwell in the head and being in fictional minhee's head was ummm...well i don't recommend writing rpf instead of going to therapy!

- mostly listened to out of touch by beauty queen while writing (it is now my most listened to song of 2023)
- took some inspiration from a short story for the water metaphors/imagery & inspiration from some prose (i think...unless it was poetry...anyway!) for a line or two in I
- compiled an absurdly long list of potential titles, including but not limited to the following
- The Swimmer, Who Thinks Himself a Professional, Enters the Water For the First Time
- Treading Water All the While **yes i realize how fucking long and insane this is...can you imagine if i hadn't come up with anything else**
- A Small Country of Hope
- Bend Towards the Light
- River Ceiling, Dappled Light
- there are 9 parts (including the interlude) because cravity is a 9 member group under starship enterta-

overall, considering this was the first time i chose to write a complete sequel for a remix, i'm fairly satisfied with it, and the author said they enjoyed it :3 the biggest thing i'd change is expanding on the "getting together" section (V CONT.), i was literally running out of time and running on fumes so it was rushed and if i was able to think i would've made it more detailed and rounded out, esp towards the end,, also at some point i wanted to tie in the whole biting as intimacy thing maybe but i totally forgot??? however i like how the shopping scene in INTERLUDE turned out, i think that's my fav part right now. the bit in III that ties into the title is also special in my eyes.

honestly not much to say about this (bc i've said so much in writing logs while working on it lol) other than THANK GOD. 2 years and a bunch of changes later and it's out!! honestly i'm pretty happy with it other than the ending nfjkdnfdjkfjhd i rushed it and you can tell...it ends with dialogue and it's just. yeah. oh well, at least the post-orgasm scene turned out okay i think. also hey i finally fulfilled my goal of using a jacuzzi/hot tub in a fic!
